Techno Source Lets the Genie Out of the Bottle

Feb. 17-20, 2008 — Techno Source, a maker of electronic games, lets the genie out of the bottle with Miss Genie™, an interactive experience for girls.

Miss Genie™ is an interactive, personal confidant and advisor who lives in a bottle. With animated facial expressions and a supportive voice, Miss Genie comes to life on an LCD screen and has the answers to a young girl’s many questions. Built-in speech recognition technology enables her to understand and respond to a girl’s commands. Girls can talk to Miss Genie about their favorite topics, take quizzes, get personalized fortunes, play match maker, and wake up to a talking alarm every day. For ages 6+ (SRP: $29.99).

Among Techno Source’s other introductions are:

  • X vs. Y, an electronic tabletop game that pits men against women and asks, "Who knows more about the opposite sex?" Teams of players answer genderbased questions to earn points and win the game. X vs. Y talks back to players with built in male and female game show hosts who guide play— and takes sides. For adults ages 18+ (SRP: $29.99).

  • Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Tabletop Game, an electronic game based on the TV game show, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Like the show, the object is to answer 11 questions in a row to win $1 million. Shaped like a chalkboard, the game features a wireless remote that resembles an eraser and lets players "beam" in their answers. The game also features music and sound effects from the show and 13 school subjects with more than 2,500 questions. For ages 8+ (SRP: $29.99).

  • Guess What I Am!™, a classic guessing game with a twist: players place their faces through the space of the mystery card, transforming themselves into one of 30 silly characters. A roll of the die asks yes or no questions like "Do I play sports?" or "Do I have fur?" to narrow down the list of possible characters. The first player to guess correctly wins. For ages 3+ (SRP: $15.99).

Techno Source also bows two new electronic hand-held games, Phase 10, a rummy-like card game that lets players challenge one to three computer-controlled opponents, and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? Both are for ages 8+ (SRP: $19.99 and $9.99, respectively). Visit Techno Source at the Javits Center, Booth 3055.
